Andrew & Amy’s wedding on Saturday 22nd August 2020

Accommodation

Leeds Castle, Kent

Leeds Castle, Kent

We hope you’re able to join us for our wedding on Saturday, 22 August 2020. We’re conscious that many guests aren’t local to Kent, and so we’ve included some details on accommodation below:

At the castle:

  1. The Castle: The castle itself includes 20 bedrooms in total, namely: 8 Castle State Rooms (7 doubles, 1 twin), 5 Castle Gloriette Rooms (2 doubles, 2 ziplink, 1 single), and 7 Castle Battlement Rooms (3 doubles, 4 ziplink) - we’ve viewed several of each type and they’re all extraordinary. You’re welcome to stay in the castle, both convenient and an opportunity to stay in a castle that’ll be 901 years old at the time of the wedding, having hosted royalty including King Henry VIII. Our wedding year of 2020 will mark 500 years since Henry VIII’s stay in the castle en route to meet Francois I at The Field of the Cloth of Gold. The castle has more recently hosted world leaders for talks between Israel and Egypt in 1978, and others heads of state, including the Prime Minister Blair for Northern Ireland peace talks in 2004. Castle bedrooms are only available with events held at the castle, and aren’t available to book individually - instead we would need to book these on your behalf. Please let us know if you’d like more information or to book one or more of these rooms with breakfast the next day. The check-out time for the castle rooms is by 10 am, which is enforced strictly. Castle State Rooms are the most expensive at £335 for the night, with other rooms at £285 for the night. Breakfast the next day is included in the castle.

  2. Stable Courtyard: Accommodation and bed and breakfast is available on the castle estate in the Stable Courtyard, which is a very short walk away from the castle. The castle only has 5 rooms remaining, and they’re available on a first come, first served basis. Please let either me or Andrew know if you’d like the booking code.

  3. Battel Hall: If you’d like a slightly longer 2-night stay, please let us know - Battel Hall is available to hire on the estate, as well as the adjacent Battel Hall Oast, which both provide really beautiful and quirky self-contained and self-catering accommodation, and a private garden. Battel Hall on its own includes five double and twin bedrooms (up to 10 people), while the separate oast allows an extra 4 people. The cost for Battel Hall would be the equivalent of £210 per person per night for the weekend. Full occupancy of Battel Hall and Oast would be the equivalent of £178.60 per person per night for the weekend.

  4. Other Options: The castle also offers some other accommodation including cottages and glamping! Ordinarily the Maiden’s Tower has accommodation too, that may be rented at any time, but it’s not available for our wedding as there’s another event.

In the locality:

  1. The Mercure Maidstone Great Danes Hotel: A 4-star hotel and spa with tennis, golf, health club, gym and swimming pool is a short drive away - probably the closest accommodation that’s outside the Leeds Castle grounds - website at this link.

  2. Tudor Park Marriott Hotel: A 4-star hotel and spa with golf, fitness centre and swimming pool is also nearby - website at this link.

  3. The Black Horse Inn: A beautiful pub offering bed and breakfast a short drive away - website at this link.
